Jolly good Fellows! Brad and Keith Eckermann honoured by the SA Division of the Australian Institute of Conveyancers

The Australian Institute of Conveyancers in South Australia has honoured Brad and Keith Eckermann by appointing them as Fellows.

To be a Fellow of the AICSA, you must be a person who the Division Council believes is “a fit and proper person to hold such qualification”.

To understand what that means in the case of Eckermann Conveyancers, we need to go back 40 years.

Good, reliable ethical service at all times

In an earlier article on this site, I just wanted to start my own business: 40 years of Eckermann Steinert Conveyancers, Colin Steinert explained the foundation of what today is Eckermann Conveyancers.

“We just gave good, reliable ethical service at all times and the business grew from repeat business,” says Colin.

This approach made Keith Eckermann feel at home when he moved across from being a banker and a farmer because this conveyancing firm was down-to-earth and straight-shooting.

Part of being a “fit and proper person” is having the ability to not only act diligently but to be liked and trusted. On this note, Keith recalls it was his banking experience that allowed him to understand the many principles and procedures of conveyancing, while his contacts among Rural Agents helped open doors because he could “talk the farmers’ lingo”.

“Gentlemen business people”

Brad Eckermanns reflections on becoming a Fellow of the AICSA take him back to the basics.

“When we turned 40,” he says, “I shared my thoughts that the strong work ethos that Colin and Keith both lived by, and the culture they created that got them both known as “gentlemen business people”, which has remained at the core of HOW we do what we do.”

Brad notes that more than 40 team members continue the tradition and help keep the culture alive in metropolitan and regional SA.

As part of the way Brad’s “DNA” is enmeshed in the conveyancing sector, he has deftly overseen the careful selection of new technology as the firm reacts to and plans for the myriad changes the industry has seen over the years, especially in the last decade.
