Annual Property Transfers
How things have changed! Over the past 16 years the average number of property transfers in South Australia has totalled just a whisker under 50,000 (49,962 to be exact). This soared to an average of over 62,000 during the COVID years of 2021 and 2022 when the South Australian property market was especially active.
Now that final figures have been announced for 2023, we can report that there were 52,839 property transfers recorded by Land Services SA for the calendar year. This would suggest that we are settling back to a new normal and one that is much quieter than 2021 and 2022. Annual transfers look to be settling back closer to the numbers we saw in 2008 and 2009.
