We understand that COVID-19 has had significant impacts on people’s day to day lives, and has created a great deal of uncertainty, disruption and anxiety.
We know that even at the best of times, buying, selling, leasing or undertaking any other property, business or financial transaction is stressful enough.
During these uncertain and stressful times, it is even more important to have reliable, trusted advisors, who make your life simple and give you peace of mind.
The Eckermann Group was established in 1976, and the family owned and operated business comprises South Australia’s largest conveyancing firm, together with property and commercial law and Form 1 specialists.
By engaging any of Eckermann Conveyancers, Eckermann Lawyers and/or Eckermann Forms, you gain the comfort of dealing with a reliable, digitally-enabled, security-focussed team of experts.
The Eckermann Group is well and truly open for business and well-prepared to support and work with you during the COVID-19 situation.
Continuity of Service
We have the appropriate technology infrastructure, cyber security and systems including video conferencing and remote access capabilities to operate from anywhere in the world.
With over 50 team members spread across our six offices throughout South Australia, our clients can have absolute confidence that we have the necessary resources to continue delivering service excellence.
Electronic Settlements
There is no need to visit our offices or sign paperwork in person, as we can complete all required documentation and processes electronically.
From Monday 23 March 2020 onwards, all possible settlements have been moved to PEXA for electronic settlement. Any settlements which need to need to take place outside of PEXA (for any specific reason) can also be accommodated by our team.
Verification of Identity (VOI)
We do not require verification of identity (VOI) appointments in person in any of our offices. If you would like to complete your VOI with us, it can be undertaken online.
Walk-in Meetings
In order to ensure the safety of our team members and clients, we are discouraging walk-in meetings in all of our offices. We have the available technology to complete all meetings via video conference or over the phone.
Scheduled Meetings
Should an appointment in person be absolutely necessary, each appointment will need to be booked in advance to enable us to stagger appointment times, make arrangements for cleaning after each appointment and to best ensure social distancing is possible.
We ask that all visitors to our offices please advise us in advance if you, or others that live in your household:

  • are experiencing any flu or cold-like symptoms;
  • have come into close contact with someone in the last 14 days who has been diagnosed with Coronavirus or suspects they might have Coronavirus; or
  • have returned from overseas in the last 14 days.

Social Distancing and Hygiene
Should you visit any of our offices for a scheduled meeting, we request that you practice high standards of hygiene and social distancing, including:

  • washing your hands with hand sanitiser or soap immediately prior to or upon entry to our office;
  • not shaking hands;
  • wiping down pens or documents transferred between people; and
  • sitting and standing at maximum practical distances away from each other.

Our response to these evolving circumstances is being reviewed and updated daily. We appreciate your understanding.
We stress that these policies and procedures are the result of an abundance of caution and not caused by panic or alarm.
We thank you for your cooperation in what are very unusual circumstances for clients, team members and businesses alike.
We will continue to monitor the advice of Australia’s health experts and make any adjustments as required.
Sincerely,
Jarrod Eckermann
